Way back on 1970s this was the place where my mother used to spend her childhood. Often times, she and her siblings would go here to look for oyster and sometimes catch fish. Thus, this place has a memory to cherish.

Road Trip to Boljoon, South of Cebu

Boljoon is a fifth (5th) class municipality composed of eleven (11 barangays. Of the eleven, 6 barangays are coastal including the Poblacion, the rest are upland barangays. It is an agricultural town where fishing and farming is the two main livelihood of its people. The Poblacion is the main commercial district of the town.

Boljoon is one of the oldest towns in southern Cebu. It is also the quaintest and picturesque. Its narrow coastal plains are bordered by cliff and luxuriant hills; which offers a commanding view of the Bohol Strait. Boljoon therefore is hemmed in by tall mountain ranges with residual natural forests making it " THE ONLY POSTCARD TOWN IN THE ENTIRE PROVINCE OF CEBU".

Malapascua Island

Located about 7kms north-east of Cebu and about 25kms west of Leyte. Others may call it Boracay in Cebu, for it has extraordinary long white sand beach. Thresher sharks and manta rays is very popular, thats why many divers will be love to visit the place. Malapascua is the only place in the world where thresher sharks can easily be seen in daily basis.
You can also enjoy island hopping, hiring a banca for only php1500 to go around the island and see many islet. Going there is one of my unforgetable experiences. My 3days stay is not enough and my 1day work leave is worthied.

Uragay Spring, Carmen Cebu

Uragay cold spring, others may call it Uruguay spring, located in Carmen Cebu. From the city you can reach the place in 1hr. through public buses. Fare is php35 per head, from Carmen you have to ride a motorcycle known as habal-habal, php15 fare per head to reach the spring.

The spring water is so cold and clean. Some says Nature's Spring Bottled Water Company get thier mineral water from there source. It's a perfect place to relax and get away from the hot summer.

Tubod Minglanilla, Cebu

Tubod flowing water resort is another place for summer getaways. It will only take 20mins to reach the place from the city. Located at the Upper Pakigne Minglanilla. Going there you have to ride a tricycle, 1.5km from the main road.

The place offered many amenities, it also has a bird and flower sanctuary.

Inambakan Falls, Ginatilan Cebu

Ginatilan is located at the southern part of Cebu, 136km. from the city. Need to ride a bus going there, a 3hrs drive. It was not me actually who went there, it was my father and his friends. The falls was known for the locals only. Getting there they have to walk 3kms from the main road. The Inambakan falls is another great destination here in Cebu that soon to be develop for tourist.

Talaba - oyster

Talaba is a vernacular term for Oysters. Got these pics when we went to my friend’s place in Lilo-an Cebu. There were plenty of Talaba in their place. We brought it for only 30php per kilo, there are place here in Cebu were they are very expensive; prices may reach to 90php to 150php per kilo. Waves in Punta Engaño, Mactan

Punta Engaño, Mactan, place where the Hilton Cebu Resort and Spa stood up, and the famous Shangri-la's Mactan Island Resort & Spa. It was Sunday afternoon when my parents went to a friend’s house, as they passed by big waves. They were thrilled, luckily they brought a digicam. This was taken near Hilton Resort.

Sinulog Festival 2009

The famous Sinulog Festival is held every year on the third Sunday of January. The festival is characterized by a very long parade with many groups of persons dressed in colorful costumes finding their way through the streets while dancing the Sinulog. Different dance steps are presented accompanied by the sound of the drums. Though the dance is already very old, the parade is rather young! 1980 was the first year that the parade was organized. While dancing, people are shouting petitions and thanksgivings to the Santo Niño. Shouting is necessary because the pilgrims have to be sure that they will be heard by the Santo Niño.

I am really fond of art; any kind, photography, painting, sketching and many others. So when 3d arts were introduced, I then want to learn about it. But now, as a web developer I don’t have extra time doing the things I wanted to do, for there are a lot of things I have to learn in my field. Somehow, I didn't close any opportunity in learning new things.

The island of Bohol

I had these pictures when i went to Bohol. I've been there twice this year. It was my first time actually, i went there with my friend and her family, when they visited their farm. The second time was when we had our company outing. I really enjoyed every place we went.
Bohol is a small island near Cebu. And it is where you can find the well-known Chocolate Hills, which was voted in the 7 Wonders of the World. So here are some of the photo that i took..enjoy...

I even remember once, when my classmates went in my house and told me that my place is more like a country side. Miraculous Mary, Simala Cebu

Cebuanos are known for being religious, and the Miraculous Mary of Simala is among thier revered patrons. It is located in upper Lindogon, Simala, Sibonga, southern part of Cebu, just an hour and half ride from the city. The Mother Mary shrine is bieng run by Marian monks.

The feast of the Miraculous Mary is celebrated on every 13th day of the month. This was based on the dates when Mama Mary miraculously appeared on the mountain of Simala. The first appearance happened on May 13 and the second was on October 13. From then on, the miracles lived on. Many people were coming to visit Mama Mary and offer their petitions. And many prayers were answered.

The Santo Niño was long considered to be the patron "saint" of Cebu. However, the Santo Niño is a representation of Jesus Christ as a child. The Catholic Church in the Philippines sets the Holy Child as an example of humility and as a celebration of the Incarnation. Many Cebuano's do not consider the Christmas Season over until the Feast of the Santo Niño. The local feast is celebrated every 3nd Sunday of January. The Sinulog festival is one of the grandest and most colorful festivals in the Philippines.
